Current News today confirmed that it has completed the acquisition of BBA, LLC., an RDA consultanting agency, from Brian Biviano & Associates of Orlando, FL.  The transaction was closed on May 25, 2006.  The company has been renamed Current RDA.  Brian Biviano, formerly President and CEO of BBA will remain with the company as the division's Chief Operating Officer.  The divisional offices will remain in Orlando, FL.  The company also announced it had signed Lori's Hospital Gift Shops and Heritage's Dairy Farms to its RDA services.

The convenience store chain, which operates over 400 franchise locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, will be turning over its 39 New York and New Jersey stores to Current as of Aug. 1st. Current News has reached agreement with hospital gift shop supplier, Kelli's Gift Shops, to become Kelli's recommended vendor of magazines & books to Kelli's large base of thousands of independent hospital gift shops throughout the U.S.  Kelli's will promote Current in its sale catalogs and mailings to its customers. Current, which presently services 103 Lori Hospital Gift Shops in 12 states as well as dozens of independent hospital gift shops, hopes to become the largest distributor of magazines to hospital gift shops in the U.S. by the end of 2007.

Zlotnitsky announced today that the company has signed an agreement with 7-Eleven to serve as the distributor of magazines and books to 7-Eleven's Great Lake division stores in the greater Chicago, IL area, including the South Bend, IN area, replacing Source Interlink and a trio of secondary wholesalers.  Current will be setting up a full service operation in the region, and service will begin in mid October. The agreement brings the total of 7-Eleven stores served by Current News to nearly 1,500 - most of any wholesaler in the U.S.

Zlotnitsky and Executive Director Bennie Hines celebrated the completion of the 4-day training of the company's delivery force for 7-Eleven, with a certificate ceremony and a picture opportunity for the first 14 graduates (See Picture).  The training - one of three seminars being conducted by the company to orient both existing staff and newcomers to the company's service philosophy and to the specific expectations related to the 7-Eleven project, was called by one trainee, who is a veteran of 13 years in the industry at another company, as 'the most comprehensive and energizing training I've ever gotten.'

CNC and National News announced today that phase I in the integration of the companies delivery operations will be completed with the Monday, January 27 launch of combined distribution to the companies' Baltimore customers.  Initially, only the delivery will be combined; customers will receive bundles with two bundle tops, one for each company, and seperate invoices.  By April 1, customers will receive a sinlge bundle top and invoice from the new company, NewsOne.

CNC announced today that it has signed a contract to distribute magazines & books to the area locations of the Grand Mart grocery chain.  Grant Mart, an international grocer based in Hong Kong, will operate four locations purchased recently from Weis Market.  Three of the four stores will be open by the last week of December 2002, and the last one is expected to open in February 2003.
