Fas Mart Launch is a Success (cont.)
Operationally, a tie & hold operation began three weeks ahead of launch, to ensure each store had a full array of titles on the first shipment. The tie & holds then were coordinated by route and store, and delivered at once.
''Starting a program from scratch to this many stores is not easy, and we didn't expect perfection,'' said David Arensdorf, Fas Mart's Category Manager. ''We expected CNC to be responsive to our needs as they emerged, and to quickly correct issues we identified. In that regard, the launch went extremely well, and overall, the launch was quite smooth. My expectation is that CNC will be among Fas Mart's best vendors.''
