New Vending Initiative Being Implemented
WASHINGTON, D.C., NOV. 16, 2001 - CNC announced today that it has completed the first phase in a pilot program that will ultimately equip all CNC-served newspaper coin boxes with an electronic auditor system. The new equipment is now fully operational and CNC's coin boxes in Montgomery County, MD, where CNC serves over 500 coin boxes, have all been properly equipped.
The technology, called Electronic Delivery Auditor (EDA) enables CNC to capture time of service on a coin box by coin box basis for each individual coin box served by CNC. Likewise, it enables CNC to identify what coin boxes were not served on any given day.
Over the course of the next 90 days, all CNC coin boxes will be equipped with the new technology. Information from the field will be freely shared with CNC's publishers.
